Do you really know Nicosia? Phaneromenis 70, in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, organises a series of guided tours around Nicosia! The tours are part of our ongoing cultural/anthropological programme titled “Urban Details” and are coordinated and supervised by the archaeologist and tour guide Antigoni Michael. Every tour will show you another hidden layer of Nicosia, and will make you look at the city from a new point of view!
 
All the tours will begin from our building in Phaneromeni’s square.
 
Exploring the geology of Nicosia 22/12/2021

The third one of the eight tours organised by Phaneromenis 70 and sponsored by The Deputy Ministry of Culture is given by the geologist and tourist guide Iphigenia Gabriel!

Theme: This tour is aiming at understanding the geology of Nicosia while walking in the streets of this city. Our guests will have the opportunity to observe the building elements consisting the old city of Nicosia. At the same time, they will learn about the history of the building methods through the centuries in Nicosia. Of course, our geologist will explain how stones and other elements of the city were created and their connection to the geology of Cyprus.

“Have you ever wondered what is a limestone, how the mudbricks are made, and what are the ingredients of concrete? Would you be interested to know about the materials need to build a house along the centuries? Then join our walk in the old city of Nicosia and explore the answers!”

Εξερευνώντας τη γεωλογία της Λευκωσίας 22/12/2021

Η τρίτη περιήγηση στην σειρά ξεναγήσεων του Φανερωμένης 70 με την ευγενή χορηγία του Υφυπουργείου Τουρισμού γίνεται από την γεωλόγο και ξεναγό Ιφιγένεια Γαβριήλ!

Θέμα: Στόχος της ξενάγησης είναι να γίνει μια περιδιάβαση στη Γεωλογία της Κύπρου περπατώντας στην εντός των τειχών Λευκωσία. Οι επισκέπτες θα παρατηρήσουν τα δομικά υλικά από τα οποία είναι φτιαγμένα τα κτίρια στην Παλιά Λευκωσία και τον τρόπο κατασκευής των κτιρίων στις διαφορετικές ιστορικές περιόδους του νησιού. Ταυτόχρονα, θα επεξηγείται ο τρόπος δημιουργίας των πετρωμάτων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν και θα γίνεται σύνδεση με τη Γεωλογία της Κύπρου.

«Αναρωτήθηκες ποτέ τι είναι η πουρόπετρα, πώς φτιάχνεται το πλιθάρι και από τι αποτελείται το μπετόν; Θα σε ενδιέφερε να μάθεις με ποια δομικά υλικά και με ποιο τρόπο κτίζονταν τα κτίρια ανά τους αιώνες; Έλα μαζί μας στην παλιά Λευκωσία και θα το ανακαλύψουμε μαζί περπατώντας»!
